Summer begins in earnest

Seasonal workers know that the inter-season period is normally when you rest, recharge and spend some quality time with friends and family.

People who know me know that I just spent the last two months running around Europe at a break-neck pace, helping American tourists make the most of their visits.

So Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels, Paris, London, Normandy, Brittany... It's been great, but it's time to get back to work on the South West coast of France.

More products will be available on my society6 page soon, and photos from this spring's touring will be around imminently. I will also have some details about a great marketing project I've been working on, so that's exciting!

The end of the season is nigh

The snow is slushy soup by midday, so it’s time to start focusing on what’s next! Sorry winter, it’s (almost) OVER!

Luckily for me I have great options and some super fun projects coming up - For May, June and July I’ll be travelling Europe as a Tour Director. I have a new camera incoming, and I’ll be seeing so many friends soon.

I’ll be taking people to visit London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Normandy. I’ll be hitting some of the best museums in the world, the D-Day beaches, and Mont Saint-Michel! I’ll get to do a ton of touristy things while helping other people to make the most of their visit and enjoy themselves. As a lover of itineraries and planning, I’m so excited to get to do this! Plus there is a lot of food planned and I want to eat EVERYTHING.

In the meantime, it’s the moment to enjoy some slushy snow, reflect on what I’ve learnt this season, and what my next steps are. Please enjoy a photo of me doing my best, linking turns and getting sunburnt.

Spring has sprung

The winter season is over, and spring is technically here, even if the temperatures here in Tignes in the French Alps beg to differ. Despite the ongoing lack of snowfall, the pistes here remain fun and open and I hope that the snowy adventures can last until the end of the season. Meanwhile it's time to get slushy in the park, and start hiking a bit more! I'm excited to go hunting for the spring wildflowers and see what animals have awoken. The birdsong in the morning has evolved dramatically over the last two weeks and I'm so ready to be in renewed nature. With my camera, of course.

Spring at 2100 meters is not really like spring elsewhere. Obviously it’s colder, but it’s more fragile too. Driving down the mountain to Bourg Saint Maurice is like skipping ahead 6 weeks to the end of spring, where the crocuses are in full bloom and everyone is in a light jumper! The snow recedes and the air is thick and warm. In one month I’ll be by the sea again, one way or another.

Are you in Tignes and you’d like to meet up to have your photo taken?
